About The Role

The Business Intelligence Developer should have clear exposure to working within a fast paced Agile IT environment. Furthermore, you should have a passion for working with different BI technology and discovering new ways of interpreting data in a commercial environment.

Experience of designing and developing insightful analysis to answer business questions. You will directly interface with the product and analytics team to discover visualization methods to present advanced analytics data. You will build dashboards, reports, visualizations in BI tools to solve interesting business problems. 

You should be a commercially focused individual who is able to communicate well with a broad range of stakeholders from the requirements gathering stage to interpretation. You should be able to easily discuss technical subjects with both peers in IT, and also with non-technical colleagues across the broader business.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing Technical leadership within the development and operations

• Provide Technical authority in prospective meetings with other departments, evaluate technical proposals from suppliers, and implement recommendations to stakeholders.
• Provide Hands-on Technical leadership, in development, operation and improvement of services. Work closely with the wider team to ensure high quality code, services and dashboards are delivered in line with the project goals and delivery cycles.
• Work with product managers to understand user needs for new/existing services and dashboards and support them

Conducting business analysis initiatives

• Business Analysis including requirement gathering, stakeholder management and solution definition.
• Design, Develop, Test and deploy complex interactive reports and dashboards for visual insights using Tableau.
• Supporting the production of BI reporting for senior stakeholders and board members.
• Implement and query databases/datastores as per the BI design and requirementswWriting queries in either SQL or NoSQL databases.

Developing, enhancing, and maintaining reports, dashboards, and data models

• Writing queries in either SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Collaborate with engineering and product development team.
• Lead development of user-driven prototypes, identify technical options/inform architectural approaches, working with team members to write tests, code and documentation for new/existing systems.
• Proactively advice on best practices.
• Assist in budgeting process.
• Manage BI team, providing feedback and managing performance.
  

To Be The Right Fit, You'll Need

• Educational Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related preferred
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
• Comprehensive and recent experience designing and implementing complex data visualization projects,
• Experience in a report development, business analytics, business intelligence tools, techniques, and technology.
• Knowledge of Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server to manage and curate various live and extracted (TDE) data sources
• Design efficient data model
• Have In-depth knowledge with data visualization best practices and interfacing Tableau with external data sources
• Knowledge of cloud based BI / data analytics solutions utilising Tableau.
• Adept at writing Database/DataStore queries, inclusive of SQL.
• AWS or similar cloud platform exposure
• Excellent communication skills.
• Fluency in English
